Fashion, Style and Blow-dry

On the 30th of January 2013, Myself and a few fellow bloggers were invited to the stylish, up market Leticia Haute Coiffure event hosted at the relaxed and inviting beauty salon in Chilten Street. This top end independent hair and beauty salon owned by stylist and hair sensation  Leticia and Pierre Doumit, created an award winning atmosphere which wowed the creative bloggers which were encouraged to gain the experience of which the salon offers.

Entering the salon you automatically get a sensationally powerful feeling of hope and achievement of what has gone into this place that has made it so popular, the light and aired salon gives you the impression of warmth, with a style so unique to the owners that it expresses their personalities and feelings to their customers with a simple out lay of furniture, lightly patterned walls and dark interior design encourages you to enter unwillingly into the mask of seduction and sensation that you may feel. white pebble dash stairs that float you down to the rooms of relaxation and coloured lighted ceiling helps you create a friendship and familiarity to the place for your next return  

Talking to the hair struck sensation Pierre Doumit about the quality of my hair and the unfortunate hair-loss that I have seemed to gain over the coming years was only as I predicted very keen to help, he suggested a number of reasons why this may be possible two of which could create a perfectly good meaning behind it.
One - STRESS, and considering I have an act of worrying and over thinking things, stress isn't far behind. Two - A MISSING VITAMIN WITHIN MY DIET, since moving to London myself and flat mates have created a menu with the most popular ingredient of Chicken, considering I don't eat much else this could be the common goal to my hair loss and I will Quote 'Fish, must be in all diets. it's a big part of your protein intake' - Pierre Doumit.

When accepting the invite, we were offered a treatment which were a blow-dry, facial or manicure each treatment would have cost £40 each, choosing my choice was easy, never having this treatment before I was very excited. Having Pierre which is the creative director of the whole salon was an amazing experience he has a unique style and influence on a persons head, his quick and stylish technique can transform a style in minutes, with a relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage before styling provides you with an atmosphere which gets you ready for the finished piece as he kept saying quick and easy blow-dry because of MAGIC HANDS. This treatment although is expensive I would highly recommend it either for a day trip, night out or just everyday styling I would definitely experience it again.     

On leaving the salon, the staff and hosts were very pleasant and thanked us all for coming. On leaving we each received a goodie bag which included the understandable prices of the salon, A fashion and style guide for hair and beauty trends, A (very questionable for me) L'Oreal Rice Lift (basically anti-wrinkle cream) and Essie nail polish shade 753 DA BUSH which to me is a very neutral colour (reminds me of a type of mint colour). I'd like to give a huge thank you to Leticia and Pierre Doumit for giving me an experience that I wont forget and for giving me a nice little goodie bag.

On the over all experience of this event I rank it 8/10

London's Got Talent

As a television Production student my aim is to attend as many Audience Sets as possible applying on Applause I gained four tickets to watch Britain's Got Talent as we didn't cue until 3pm we didn't get the seats that we wanted but we were seated above the judges. 

  

Watching the crew set up gave me a understanding of how these shows work. It was completely different to how Surprise Surprise was set out, I think it has much to do with the fact that Surprise Surprise was a stable set up which is used every week and Britain's Got Talent is a moving set which goes all around Britain looking for the next winner. I cant give to much away which happened while filming because it hasn't aired yet but keep a look out for the 46 (I think) Old women who exercises on a chair ... Amazing

Me, Annie, Ieuan and Megan went to watch this show, we all really enjoyed it. The acts were all amazing and the on host presenter which entertained us between sets kept us amused. Going to shows like this gives me a huge boost on the career that I want.

Abit Of History In Our Lives

As you can properly tell me and Ieuan like our day trips out so on this wet Saturday morning we decided to travel London. The British History Museum were on the cards after which I would get my nails done. Just before Christmas I had seen this deal in the Harrow Middlesex HA1 2DE nail shop which is a town near me and had to explore while we were out to see if they had the same deal on. For a set of Acrylic Square shaped nails with Black gel nail polish and glitter particles, estimated time for appliance one hour for £20 but as I'm a student 10% off with a student card was applied and I only paid £18, to look after your nails don't wear them out not perfect for jobs with heavy lifting and a lot of hand movement and must refilled every 2-3 weeks. Now in London I can not tell you if that's a good deal but where I come from I would have paid £32 and £5 extra for the nail polish with no discount applied. The deal is open to anyone and has become my must have item every month to book an appointment call The Only Way Is Glam on 02084273533.

After getting my nails done we set out to the British History Museum, we walked around looking at the history of the world and explored into the nation which we never knew. we realized that a place like this would be a perfect for growing children and people which love to gain the ability to understand the world. For us it was a lovely experience and a opportunity to express our knowledge of what we knew which we found out wasn't much, a Museum isn't for everyone and a few years ago it certainly wasn't for me but going there and exploring it with Ieuan was an amazing experience. 

After the British History Museum we Traveled to the London's Bridge to explore the sights down there, we found out that the dungeons were there and priced them up as we really want to see what that's all about and for £54 you get access to London Dungeons, London eye and London's sea world, we plan to find out more in April. The sights all around London is unbelievable and there's so much more to learn.

The Bronze Effect

My first post of 2013 and I think I should kick it off with a bang, as I have neglected the fact that I have passion for fashion, but bare with me this is my first proper post on items I do plan to get better  :)

Jewellery can be produced for a large range of material, but gemstones, beads and certain types of metals are the most desirable. During 2012 Bronze and swarovski jewellery flew off our shelf's selling almost millions from any jewelers to any high street brand. Bronze items for instant, you were looking at prices ranging from £4-£12.

The items that I have bought and have decided to blog about are the four necklaces and three rings that I have bought from ebay.co.uk each item costing 99p with free postage delivery took around a month but with the price I got it was truly a bargain. each item will go with a number of different outfits and will accessorize on any given day. I am pleased with my over all items.

Iced Fashion

As a birthday present for me, my flat mate Annie was invited to the very.co.uk catwalk on ice event, as a gift she asked me to go along with her. The event was hosted at the Tower of London which I found very exciting I've never been to that part of London and especially I have never been to an event like this. Apart from being able to ice skate after the event I was very excited. 

Entering the event and grabbing a glass of champagne with Annie, we settled down by this seasons dressed mannequins as we watched crowds of people enter the event, there was a number of reality stars that walked in such as Joey Essex and Lauren Pope from TOWIE, Binky, Cheska, Ollie, Jamie and Spencer from Made In Chelsea. While waiting for the catwalk to begin we approached Ollie and Cheska and asked them for a photo they happily posed. They were both really friendly but Ollie amazed me by the pleasant encouragement of us attending the event, he was extremely friendly and asked us questions rather than the other way round. 

The show will go on, being the fact that its the middle of the December month, so you can imagine how cold it's going to be we walked and took a seat at the catwalk on ice and waited for the show to start 25 amazing, great designed outfits glided down the catwalk. Pricing them was a bit pricey but for these kind of styles your paying for quality and its worth every penny, during the January sales there will be a number of breathe taking deals with up to 40% off named brands.

The show was breathe taking, the outfits were amazing and the skaters were great and apart from the guy who tried to land a front flip and didn't the show went out with no problems. After the show we were able to skate, I was awful at the start and SOOO scared but after encouragement off Annie I was able to complete a full lap of the ice rink with no help :) after about 45 minutes I left the ice, as I was taking my skates off I took the opportunity to have a picture with Joey Essex (and what a horrible person he turned out to be, although he posed for a picture she was such an ass about it)

  

At the end of the night we were each given a goodie bag with 3 pairs of socks, gloves, scarf and ear warmers for them perfect winter nights.

                                     

Not everyone can gain tickets to events such as this but when you do; take the opportunity to look at the collection and meet some amazing people.

Sparkling Lights

Since living in London I have done some pretty amazing things, more things than I thought I would have ever done while living in Wales. On the 6th of November Myself, and two of my flat mates Megan and Annie decided to attended the Christmas Lights at Westfield's shopping centre in White City where Taylor Swift was performing live although when we researched the event and found out we would actually need wrist bands to enter the stage, to watch the performance we decided to go anyway as we didn't want to wait around at seven aclock in the morning to receive a wrist band. Arriving at the event around thirty minutes before and walking all around the centre trying to find away in through the curtains and being moved along by the security we were actually escorted into the stage area. We we were able to watch the performance, I guess we were at the right place at the right time I just feel for all the people who waited around for wrist bands.

As we settled into the stage area Taylor Swift was announced and so was Westfield's chosen charity 'save the children' which was a small group of children aged between six and nineteen who came on the stage to help Taylor Swift switch the Christmas lights on, the count down began and the lights were put on along with inside fireworks. shortly after Taylor Swift performed three of her songs 'never ever, getting back together' and 'Love story' which are my all time Favorite Taylor Swift songs and her recent one 'red' which I heard for the first time that night. Her performance was amazing and worth turning up on a wim and getting in to watch the show without stressing about wrist bands.

Although people waited around for a wrist band and we didn't have to, it was a free event. As a student you don't have enough to indulge in events such as music festivals and live performances free events such like this are a must go everything you do these days needs a budget so doing your research and going anyway can pay off in the long run.

To Be Surprised

There's a number of different activities you can do in London and one of main things to do, is to be the audience in a number of different TV programmes. You can gain the tickets on www.applausestore.com for free tickets that will enable you to experience the world of Television. As a Television production student, going to these shows are giving me the ability to learn while having fun at the same time. The tickets I have were priority tickets which meant I was on the third row from the stage and had brilliant view of the entire set. 

The shows presenter is Holly Willoughby, it's a show that encourages people with amazing stories to come forward and tell it. Normally the persons family would enter them on the show and it becomes a surprise to the wonderful people who needs recognition of the wonderful things they have been through or have done. 

Going to a show like this allowed me to open my eyes to how fast paced working in the television industry is. As we waited outside it was controlled by what I can only describe them us the applause runners. They were approachable and knew what they were doing after leading us into the building and giving us the seating which were allocated to us. Watching them setting up the cameras had me amazed because of the technology they were using, plus the multi camera techniques they had set up for the show was inspiring. As we watched the show unfold the out takes and cuts they did was embracing as I didn't know they did that with staged shows like this one. A number of people were on the show and we were told that we would be the audience for at least three episodes which I found amazing as they shoot parts of different episode and Watching JLS perform was the highlight of my night.
